"Instead of working for the survival of the fittest, we should be working for the survival of the wittiest — then we can all die laughing." — Jane Wagner
My name is Lissa — pronounced li-suh, not lee-suh. I find it's easiest to get that out of the way as soon as possible.
I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, with two parents from the north and two older siblings (though most people think I'm the oldest). I've been passionate about making people laugh my whole life — comedy has always been one of my favorite things. When I was 11 years old, I discovered theatre and have been acting ever since.
I pursue acting in every form it takes — on camera, on stage, musical theatre, Shakespeare, experimental, and really anything you can think of. On-camera work has captured my heart in recent years, but I love it all.
Outside of performing, I love anything creative: watercolor painting, DIY projects, and sewing. I love dogs, the color pink, coupons, cursive handwriting, and old family photos. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
(I am also currently writing a musical adaptation of Creep (2014) and Creep 2 (2017). They are the best cinema out there and deserve to be on stage.)
